Upper Bucks County Technical School Recognized for Transforming Education with Augmented Reality

Upper Bucks County Technical School and instructor Patrick Chrinko were named a zSpace School of Distinction and a zSpace Educator of Distinction.

zSpace recently recognized Upper Bucks County Technical School (UBCTS) and instructor Patrick Chrinko for their work in integrating augmented and virtual reality technologies into career and technical education, writes staff for zSpace

zSpace, a provider of AR and VR technologies to educational institutions, noted that Chrinko and UBCTS should act as models for how schools can best utilize these tools.

UBCTS has been named a zSpace School of Distinction, and Chrinko has been recognized as a zSpace Educator of Distinction.

Chrinko, an automotive instructor, recently implemented the technology in his courses. His students now learn how to diagnose malfunctions, simulate tool usage and examine complex electrical circuits virtually.

“zSpace has revolutionized how I teach,” said Chrinko. “My students don’t just learn about engines—they’re immersed in them. They gain visual, hands-on experience that prepares them for real-world diagnostics and decision-making.”

Upper Bucks County Technical School has also used these AR and VR tools to assist with recruitment. Incoming students can view 3D simulations to learn about the school’s programs.

The school offers demos for education leaders and legislators, allowing them to witness the benefits of using this technology.

UBCTS and Chrinko’s efforts demonstrate how zSpace’s solutions can boost enrollment, improve engagement and support students in their educational and vocational pursuits.
