A new Playa Bowls location is coming to Richland Marketplace at 676 N. West End Blvd. this July, writes Ryan Kneller for WFMZ. The new location will open between Sally Beauty and Great Clips in the shopping center.
The fast-casual shop offers a selection of tasty and refreshing treats, including smoothies, juices and fruit bowls.
Playa Bowls was founded by Robert Giuliani and Abby Taylor, who wanted to bring pitaya and acai bowls to the Jersey Shore.
The pair began with a small pop-up stand next to a pizza shop in Belmar. They have since expanded, opening 300 locations across the country, with close to two dozen in Pennsylvania.
“Playa Bowls is your slice of summer, anytime,” the website states. “Using the freshest, highest quality ingredients, we serve healthy, delicious açaí, pitaya, coconut bowls and smoothies with sustainability and community in mind.”
Customers can choose from their wide selection of bowls, which include acai, coconut, banana, pitaya, and green.
Some of their most popular menu items are their Nutella acai bowl, featuring granola and fresh fruit, and their Electric Mermaid pitaya bowl with tropical fruit, honey and granola.
Their oatmeal bowl, which includes banana, walnut, fig and cinnamon, is also a popular item.
