Those hoping for a soothing outdoor activity will find exactly what they’re looking for at Peace Valley Lavender Farm in Doylestown, reports Nick Iadonisi for 6abc.
The farm was founded by Patti Lyons and her husband, George, in 1998. They purchased the property, built their barn, and planted the iconic fields of lavender that visitors can walk through.
Alongside the fields filled with hundreds of flowers, the farm features a gift shop with a range of lavender products. Visitors can purchase food and drinks made with lavender along with essential oils, gift sets, hand soap, and more.
The farm also offers U-Pick lavender, giving visitors the chance to cut their own flowers from the fields.
“I think it’s important sometimes for people to visit farms and participate in what the farmers do to get a better sense of how much work’s involved,” Lyons said.
The lavender will be in bloom from mid-June to early July. The farm is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM, and on Sundays from 12 PM to 4 PM. The farm will offer U-Pick lavender on those days.
Lyons hopes people enjoy the chance to simply be among the flowers, listening to the bees as they buzz by.
