The former Ground Round in Middletown, located outside the Oxford Valley Mall, is being converted into a Goldfish Swim School, writes JD Mullane for the Bucks County Courier Times.
The new location on Middletown Blvd. is one of more than 190 schools throughout the country. This will be the second Bucks County location, joining the one in Warrington.
Construction crews are renovating the facility now, and it will open in mid-July.
The Michigan-based franchise, owned by Meg and Greg Kevane, caters to kids from 4 months to 12 years old.
“Our daughter learned to swim at the first Goldfish in Birmingham (Michigan), and that’s when we realized, oh, this is really a neat environment to teach your kid to swim,” Meg said.
Greg is a Langhorne native and attended LaSalle College High School. Ten years ago, he noticed that there weren’t any similar swim schools in the area. The couple decided to open a Goldfish Swim School in Fort Washington.
Though the Kevanes operate out of Michigan, they frequently visit their family in the Philadelphia area, who are also investors.
