With warm weather and outdoor dining starting to pick up, there’s no better place to sit along a waterfront to enjoy good company, great food, and a beautiful view, writes Hira Qureshi for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
This Montgomery County restaurant made the Inquirer’s list of seven places to try that luckily come with a waterfront view.
Once a stop on the Underground Railroad, Fitzwater Station is named after landowner Abel Fitzwater and hosts the spirit of him and his son Joseph through the restaurant’s dedication to hospitality, geniality, and providing meals to the community.
Fitzwater Station sits along the Schuylkill Canal and also has views of the Schuylkill River Trail. It’s known for its barbecue, famous Fitz burgers, and puppy-friendly menu items. As an added perk, dogs are, of course, allowed on the covered porch and open-air deck.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of ducks and other wildlife that live in the canal area, as well as people-watching with one of the numerous tasty beverages available.
