Doylestown Hospital Holds Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Cardiology Lab

Doylestown Hospital celebrates the opening of its new cardiology lab with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Doylestown Hospital recently celebrated the opening of its universal lab, a high-tech facility designed to support physicians in diagnosing and treating heart problems, vascular conditions and arrhythmias, according to a staff report from TAPinto Doylestown.

The hospital’s Gorsky Heart and Vascular Suite, which houses the new lab, includes an advanced hybrid procedural room and six catheterization and electrophysiology labs.

The new lab equips cardiology teams with advanced technology and diagnostics. These enable the use of dimensional imaging, ultrasound, anesthesia monitoring and intraoperative vital signs during a range of routine and complex procedures to diagnose and treat heart, vascular and rhythm conditions.

The first procedures in the new lab were performed on April 2.

The lab opened thanks to a $4 million donation from Pat and Alex Gorsky, longtime supporters of Doylestown Hospital.

Pat Gorsky, a former nurse, serves on the Doylestown Health Foundation Board of Trustees, while Alex Gorsky previously served as Chairman and CEO of Johnson & Johnson.

Funding for the new facility included a $1 million federal grant and unrestricted donations to the Doylestown Health Foundation.

Additionally, during the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Gorskys announced a $1 million pledge to the Foundation’s Leading with Heart campaign.
