Villanova Reunion: Ex-Knicks Teammates Star in New AT&T March Madness Ad

Former Villanova teammates reunite in a witty AT&T March Madness ad, playfully addressing the Knicks' roster changes.

The “Nova Knicks” may not have lasted long on the court together, but fans can still catch the squad reunited—this time, as actors, writes J.J. Post for ESPN.

For a brief stretch in the 2024 NBA offseason, the New York Knicks assembled an impressive Villanova reunion. Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, and Donte DiVincenzo—who all played together during the 2016-17 season at Villanova—were on the same NBA roster. But the reunion didn’t last. When the Knicks traded for Karl-Anthony Towns in October, DiVincenzo was sent packing to the Minnesota Timberwolves, breaking up the band.

Now, a new AT&T commercial for March Madness is having some fun with that. The ad shows DiVincenzo running into his former Wildcats teammates in a stadium tunnel, only for a voiceover to quip: “Staying close with your college besties? Not guaranteed.”

As DiVincenzo wistfully recalls a birthday celebration with the group, he starts to walk away—until Brunson tosses him a Villanova visor. He puts it on, smiles, and the ad wraps up with a clip of their college glory days.
