New Hope customers hoping to pick up their favorite Wawa hoagies or coffee will need to travel out of town for the next six weeks, writes Jeff Werner for Patch.
Wawa has started renovations on its West Bridge Street shop and is planning to completely remodel the store to match its latest design standards. It usually takes about six weeks for Wawa to complete these projects, though timelines can vary slightly depending on the location.
Renovations usually include gutting the interior and updating layouts for efficiency, as well as incorporating newer brand features and technologies. The popular grocery chain typically raises ceilings, installs larger windows, and adds a warm color palette as part of remodeling efforts aimed at improving the customer experience. A fresh food kitchen, mobile ordering, curbside pickup, and catering are also revamped and added.
Additionally, cash register areas are often expanded, refrigerated items consolidated, and more self-checkout kiosks get added.
It is estimated that each remodel costs around $1 million.
