Fans Flock to Dynasty Sports Opening With Allen Iverson, Other Sports Legends

Fans flocked to the opening of Dynasty Sports at the Oxford Valley Mall to meet several local sports legends, including Allen Iverson.

Philadelphia sports fans flocked to the grand opening of Dynasty Sports at Oxford Valley Mall on Saturday to meet several local legends, including Allen Iverson and Donovan McNabb, writes Ariel Simpson for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Iverson, the eleven-time NBA All-Star, was drafted by the 76ers with the first overall pick in 1996. He later led the Sixers to the NBA Finals in 2001, and was named NBA MVP.

McNabb, meanwhile, led the Eagles to eight playoff appearances, five division titles, and nine postseason wins, including a Super Bowl appearance in the 2004 season, and being named NFC Player of the Year.

DeSean Jackson and Michael Vick were also at the meet-and-greet autograph event, ready for some fun with the fans.

”Man, that era was unbelievable,” said 35-year-old Philadelphia native William Nelson. “The city was united through sports. It was the most iconic time because growing up, that’s all you talked about. Allen Iverson had kids of every creed, color, race, age, wearing braids and fake tattoo arm sleeves. And McNabb just doesn’t get enough credit for what he did, making that Eagles organization what they were.”
