Bucks County Book Festival Draws Crowds with Author Panels, Book Signings

Hundreds turned out for the seventh annual Bucks County Book Festival.

The seventh annual Bucks County Book Festival attracted hundreds of literary enthusiasts with engaging author panels, book signings, and a vibrant celebration of community and creativity, writes Emily Neil for the WHYY.

People flocked to Broad Commons Park in Doylestown on Saturday for the festival’s main event. Over 40 authors from the Philadelphia region and beyond were present throughout the day, signing books and speaking on panels.

Festivalgoers had the opportunity to browse books from independently published authors and literary offerings from Doylestown Bookshop and Lahaska Bookshop, owned by Lauren Ford.

Ford noted that the impressive turnout highlights the strong support of the literary and reading community in Doylestown and Bucks County.

“Reading, any kind of art, is very important for people,” said Ford. “We have a huge library in the area that’s beautiful and well done, and lots of bookstores in Bucks County. I think people are very interested in it and I think they’re very loyal to local independent bookstores, and that’s what we need.”

In addition to the main event, nearly 200 people participated in a “reverse pub crawl” on Friday, with nine authors rotating between three restaurants to engage with attendees.
