Trout Season Opens for Bucks County Anglers

Bucks County anglers can now head out to their favorite fishing spots as trout fishing season officially opened across the region on April 5.

Bucks County anglers can now head out to their favorite fishing spots as trout fishing season officially opened on April 5, writes JD Mullane for the Bucks County Courier Times.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission started its annual fish release last month with more than 3.2 million trout unloaded into 691 streams and 130 lakes statewide. The trout stocking will continue throughout May.

The newly added fish drop sites include one in Bucks County: Lake Caroline in Fairless Hills in Falls at the Oxford Valley Park. This spot is marked as “Caroline Lake” on the PFBC stocking schedule.

It has been a local favorite fishing spot for the youngest anglers for decades.

“The county park provides excellent angler accessibility,” stated the commission’s website. “Trout will be stocked during the preseason and in-season stocking periods.”

Trout stocking in Bucks County started on February 22 at the east branch of Perkiomen Creek in Sellersville. It will end on May 5 at Levittown Lake in Tullytown.

Lake Caroline will be stocked with rainbow trout on April 16 at noon.

A state fishing license and trout license are required for anglers who are 16 and older.
