This Local Nonprofit is Helping Support Philly’s Latina Entrepreneurs

Mujeres Que Inspiran provides valuable tools and resources that serve to help Philly's Latina entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses.

Since it was launched four years ago, Philadelphia nonprofit Mujeres Que Inspiran has always strived to support and motivate Latina women in the region to start and/or grow their businesses, writes Emily Neil for WHYY.

For Mujeres Que Inspiran president and founder Mayorie Paredes, the reasoning for launching the nonprofit was important.

Sometimes they feel that they can’t do it. They feel like I’m not going to be able to achieve it, Paredes said in Spanish. And if you support her, if you help her believe in herself, she can go far.”

Through the organization, Latina entrepreneurs are connected with tools and resources pertinent to business success. This includes navigating the business and brand registration process and product promotion, among others.

Many of the Latinas who have been connected with Mujeres Que Inspiran have glowing remarks.

This applies to Raysa Cancio, the organization’s development director. While she was already a lawyer upon arriving to Philadelphia, she didn’t have access to the information and resources to get accredited and appropriately transfer her skills.

That is until she connected with Mujeres Que Inspiran. Now, she’s the founder of Latinos Solutions Center.

Meanwhile, Eudanis José Rosa, creator of Eudanis J Makeup, credits the organization for helping expand her network.
