The Carversville Inn in Carversville is wrapping up its two-year renovation and preparing for a spring opening, writes Michele Haddon for the Bucks County Courier Times.
The historic landmark – which was closed for nearly five years – has undergone extensive work both inside and outside.
“I’m most excited that we, in this community, are going to have a functioning establishment again,” said Milan Lint, who bought the building with his husband, Mitch Berlin, in 2020.
In addition to repainting the exterior and replacing the windows, the couple replaced the building’s ten two-story columns and their foundations, installed new flooring and railings for the porch, added a new extension, and reinforced other structural elements.
Inside, the restaurant and bar on the first floor feature rich textures that mingle with a palette of blacks, greens, and brass fixtures, for a French salon feel.
“The ambience, the décor, the finishes, it is certainly not the typical country inn,” said Lint.
The couple added many attractive details throughout, including tiered crystal chandeliers and marble-topped tables.
The three apartments on the two upper floors have been converted into six guest suites, including one designed to accommodate individuals with disabilities.
The couple hopes to have the inn up and running by late April.
