Wawa is introducing itself to the Roanoke community April 1 with a Community Partnership Event as it launches its first wave of a Wawa “Westward Virginia Expansion,” reports 10 News.
Wawa will provide updates on stores opening in the region along with general timeframes for construction, investments in the local communities and market projections.
Wawa will also detail the economic impact of its expansion as it announces support for local non-profit partners.
On hand will be Kim Dowgielewicz, director of Store Operations for Wawa; Mark Soroka, Wawa area manager; local officials, community partners, VIP customers and Wawa’s mascot, Wally Goose.
The event is taking place at the Salem Civic Center from 10 to 11:30 AM.
After the Community Day event, Wawa will break ground at the future site of its first Lynchburg store.
The convenience store retailer is looking for stories from Virginia friends and neighbors about their favorite Wawa memories to be a VIP Customer at the Community Day event.
Previously, Wawa announced a 40-store expansion plan in Northern Virginia over the next 15 years, at an estimated cost of $240 million.
