Pennsylvania is one of the most sinful states in the nation, according to a recently released ranking from WalletHub.
To determine the ranking, WalletHub compared the 50 states on seven sinful behaviors, including anger and hatred, jealousy, excesses and vices, greed, lust, vanity, and laziness.
Based on the study, the Keystone State needs plenty of moral growth, as it ranked in eighth place.
In individual categories, Pennsylvania ranked highest in vanity, coming fifth. One key factor in its high ranking was the number of beauty salons per capita, where the commonwealth placed fourth.
The state also placed in the upper half of the list for lust (measured by teen birth rate and internet searches for adult entertainment, among other metrics), ranking ninth, as well as No. 15 in jealousy (thefts, identity-theft complaints) and No. 25 in greed (casinos, gambling-related arrests).
Pennsylvania performed better in anger and hatred (violent crimes, sex offenders), placing at No. 30, and in laziness (hours worked, volunteer rate), landing at No. 32.
The Keystone State ranked best in excesses and vices (obesity, fast-food establishments, excessive drinking), finishing near the bottom of the list at No. 35.
