Conwell-Egan Catholic High School has found its new head football coach in-house, promoting former assistant coach Brian O’Hara to the position, writes Drew Markol for the Bucks County Courier Times.
O’Hara replaces Jack Techtmann, who decided to step down in December.
He is a graduate of Bishop Egan, which became Conwell-Egan after a merger with Bishop Conwell in 1993. He has coached the Eagles’ offensive and defensive lines for the past six years.
“We are thrilled to have Brian take the reins and extend the tradition of excellence established by coach Techtmann,” said Conwell-Egan athletic director Mike Miller. “Brian’s dedication to CEC will ensure that the positive trajectory of the program will continue to advance.”
O’Hara takes over a team that went 8-4 last season and managed to win the PIAA District 12 Class 3A championship. The Eagles lost in the opening round of the state tournament to eventual PIAA champion Northwestern Lehigh. Several core players from that team will be returning for next season.
Before joining Conwell-Egan, O’Hara coached the offensive lines at several local schools, including Archbishop Wood, Neshaminy, and Bishop Egan.
