Philadelphia’s already thriving restaurant scene is poised to grow and further evolve with dozens of new openings scheduled for 2025, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
January openings include Mediterranean eatery Emmett in Olde Kensington and Asian fusion spot Kenny’s Wok in the Concourse at Comcast Center.
The Newsroom, a speakeasy restaurant that will serve Asian-Latin fusion cuisine is coming to Northern Liberties. Not far off, the Piazza Alta is introducing three new dining concepts: Brooklyn deli Gertie will open a new location, Philadelphia-based Method will debut a food hall, and the renowned French chef Laurent Tourondel is opening a new restaurant.
Meanwhile, Fishtown will welcome a third location of Cafe Lift, New York food hall Wonder, coffee shop and bakery Haraz Coffee House, Mecha Noodle Bar serving Asian comfort food, and Mexican eatery Amá.
F1 Arcade is coming to Center City this year, alongside “social darts” venue Flight Club.
A Glu Hospitality concept, The Peabody, should open in North Philadelphia this winter.
Federal Donuts and Chicken will also be expanding into Philadelphia International Airport in the spring, while Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant will be coming to Temple University’s campus.
Honeysuckle, an Afrocentric concept, is expected to open on North Broad in March.
