Concert Golf Partners, a national owner-operator of upscale private golf and country clubs, recently added Penn Oaks Golf Club in West Chester to its portfolio, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
An investment group led by brothers John and Steve DiMarco was the company that sold the club. The financial terms of the deal were not made public.
According to Jordan Peace, Concert Golf’s senior vice president of corporate development, the company plans to invest seven figures in upgrading the golf course and amenities over the coming years.
Penn Oaks is situated on 130 acres of land that was originally granted to William Penn by King Charles II. Construction began in 1962, and it first opened three years later. The club was acquired by the DiMarcos and the ownership group in 2003.
Steve DiMarco, who was serving as general manager of the club, will continue to stay on in a consulting role after Concert Golf assumes ownership.
“The golf industry is strong right now,” Peace said. “[The ownership group] had other options. We think our visions align, that in 50 years, Penn Oaks is still a thriving private club.”
