Jeffersonville Golf Club Transformed Into One of Nation’s Best

Jeffersonville Golf Club managed to transform from a dried-out, nondescript public course into one of the nation’s best venues – but it did not happen overnight.

Jeffersonville Golf Club in Norristown managed to transform from a dried-out, nondescript public course into one of the nation’s best veneus – but it did not happen overnight, writes Jack Hirsh for GOLF.

Jeffersonville has a peak rate of $80 on the weekends, which earned it a place on GOLF’s inaugural list of America’s best golf courses you can play for $100 or less.

The start of its current era can be traced back to the beginning of the 2000s, when the township brought in Ron Prichard to restore the Donald Ross-designed course to its original glory. The course shined for a few years, but the 2008 financial crisis took its toll on the course once again and it fell into disarray.

In 2012, the township hired a new manager, Jason Bobst. His goal was to reinvest in the golf course and his efforts paid off.

The latest addition to the club is a brand new $12 million clubhouse with a restaurant, banquet spaces, a pro shop, and Trackman golf simulators.

Thanks to the changes, “the popularity, I would say, is 10 times more,” said Jeffersonville director of golf Mike Housley.
