6abc Action News meteorologist Cecily Tynan debuted a brand-new hairstyle last week that caught viewers by surprise, writes Victor Fiorillo for Philadelphia Magazine.
For years, Tynan has worn a bob, keeping her hair short throughout most of her on-air career. She recently decided to switch it up, getting some extensions during her latest trip to her Delaware County hairdresser.
Chuck, the owner of Nirvana Hair Gallery on Saxer Ave in Springfield, has done Tynan’s hair for years and was happy to provide her with a new look.
She posted pictures of the new style on social media with the caption “If you don’t like it, don’t tell me. I needed a change!”
Many positively reviewed the look, complimenting her now shoulder-length hair. Others unfortunately were quick to share their critiques despite Tynan’s caption.
Tynan has dealt with similar absurd criticisms of her physical appearance for years. Whether it be negative comments about her fashion choices or her weight, there always seems to be a group of people eager to spew vitriol at her.
Experienced in handling the haters, Tynan took to social media to announce that she made the change in style for herself, not for anyone else.
