The property that once housed the Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in Warminster has a new owner who is planning to expand the site, writes Dino Ciliberti for the Patch.
The planned expansion was approved by the township’s Planning Commission during its December meeting. That same month, the property at 705 York Road was sold to its new owner after being recently listed on the market.
The longtime restaurant closed in October after serving the Warminster area for four decades. It is still unknown what will replace the former township staple.
According to Township Zoning Officer Mike Italia, it could be another restaurant, but he noted that “it’s anyone’s guess.”
Perkins closed its doors abruptly, shutting down after serving breakfast one day. A sign on the door informed customers that the township mainstay, in operation since 1983, was “permanently closed.” It directed patrons to another location at 1681 Grant Avenue in Philadelphia, run by the same Warminster Perkins owners.
The property listing details that it spans 5,547 square feet and sits on 1.36 acres.
