Bala Cynwyd billionaire Jeffrey Yass, Pennsylvania’s richest person, nearly doubled his net worth to $50 billion last year thanks to his investment in ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, writes Sean Kitchen for The Keystone.
The recently launched website, All Eyes on Yass, highlights Yass’ wealth and his influence in the Keystone State.
“Jeffrey Yass is the richest man in Pennsylvania, and he’s funded one out of every three of our legislators here in Pennsylvania since 2017 in an effort to push his agenda, which is to privatize our public education system,” said Mary Collier, a staffer with Pennsylvania Stands Up.
She added that the organization has developed the website because Yass prefers to keep a low profile.
In the last eight years, Yass has paid out more than $75 million through a network of PACs supporting Republican candidates. Last year, he spent more than $13 million, most of it going towards Republican Attorney General Dave Sunday’s campaign.
The website also includes a tracker that reveals Yass’ spending habits and how his money is allocated through a network of PACs.
