Harcum College is partnering with Chester County Economic Development Council for the Good Jobs Challenge, a federally funded workforce training program designed to train residents in underserved populations in necessary skills and connect them with employment opportunities in healthcare, life sciences, infrastructure, and energy.
The Good Jobs Challenge aims to prepare 3,000 residents for high-quality jobs and connect those residents to the actual jobs in the greater Philadelphia region.
This program is available to those living in these Southeastern Pa. counties: Bucks, Berks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia. Led by Philadelphia Works, and in collaboration with The Skills Initiative, Philadelphia Area Labor Management, and the Philadelphia Energy Authority, the program includes several regional training providers, and Chester County Economic Development Council.
This year, Harcum has offered to work with the Council to offer space for up to 30 qualified students, who can earn a certificate as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) at no cost to the student if they graduate by Sept. 20, 2025. Tuition, books, and fees are included, as well as some support services, personal development classes, and career exploration opportunities upon graduation. The program consists of 45 hours of remote learning via synchronous lectures, held on Wednesdays from 5:30-8:30 PM. The start date is Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2024.
