Teacher at Bensalem Elementary School Celebrates Holiday Season with Festive, Extravagant Outfits
Lauren Miller, a teacher at Belmont Hills Elementary in Bensalem, spreads holiday cheer in her class with a new festive outfit for every day of the season, reports Nick Iadonisi for 6abc.
“Very early on in teaching, one of the things I loved about it was just being able to celebrate and have fun with kids and kind of feel that energy from them,” said Miller. “I gradually just kind of would have a few more outfits until I guess about six years or so when I realized I actually had enough to do everything, starting after Thanksgiving break.”
Miller wears a special holiday outfit to school throughout the entire month of December.
“It’s funny to watch them realize throughout the month that I’m like not stopping,” said Miller. “About a week or two in they’re like, ‘You haven’t worn anything regular to school in a couple of weeks!’”
Her extravagant clothing choices represent different holidays and the iconography associated with each of them. These include representations of Christmas and Hanukkah, as well as many other seasonal aesthetics that are linked with this time of year.
