The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and New Jersey Turnpike Authority are jointly seeking public input on a project that would repair or replace the 70-year-old Delaware River Bridge, writes Chris Ullery for the Bucks County Courier Times.
On Jan. 3, 2025, the two agencies will close a five-minute online survey to gather comments and concerns from individuals. Specifically, there will look for feedback from commuters who regularly use the bridge and residents in the study area on both sides of the river.
The survey results will be shared at a future public meeting early next year and then used in the preliminary engineering phase of the project. The latter is expected to last until 2027.
The bridge project would then move on to its final design phase from there and is planned to last until 2031.
This evaluation is part of the PA Turnpike/Interstate-95 (I-95) Interchange Project, which connects both roadways and makes I-95 continuous through the Mid-Atlantic.
