Bucks County Sees No Change in Population in Recent Years
Pennsylvania is one of the few states in the U.S. experiencing a decline in population, with Bucks County being among those areas that have seen little to no change in their number of residents in recent years, writes Jess Thomson for Newsweek.
As of July 1, 2023, the Keystone State’s population stood at 12,961,683, a decline from 12,972,091 in 2022, 13,013,614 in 2021, and 13,002,788 in 2020.
Meanwhile, Bucks County has recorded a zero percent change during the same period, with the population going from 646,173 in 2020 to 647,397 in 2021, 645,557 in 2022, and 645,984 in 2023.
Delaware County is another collar county that recorded zero percent change in the same period, while Philadelphia County saw a decline in population of three percent.
Neighboring Montgomery County saw its population increase by one percent from July 1, 2020, to July 1, 2023, while Chester County recorded a three percent growth, which puts it among the five fastest-growing Pennsylvania counties in that period.
