Esteemed playwright Christopher Durang whose famous play is set in Bucks County has passed away at 75 years old.

Bucks County has been home to many famous individuals, from celebrated singers and acclaimed actors to renowned authors and talented playwrights, according to a staff report from the Bucks County Courier Times.

Pink, one of the best-selling singers in the world known for her acrobatic stage presence, is a Doylestown native.

Lauren Holly is a popular actress from Bristol who starred in many TV shows and movies, including Picket Fences and NCIS.

A Lower Makefield native, Richard Kind is an accomplished actor known for his role as Paul Lassiter in Spin City. Troy Vincent, a former NFL player, also hails from Lower Makefield.

One of the best coaches in college basketball history, Jay Wright, is a Newtown native.

Bradley Cooper, one of the most famous actors of today, is from New Hope. Yolanda Hadid, a model and TV personality, also hails from the same town.

Author Pearl S. Buck is a Pulitzer Prize winner and Nobel laureate from Doylestown.

One of the brightest stars of today’s pop music, Sabrina Carpenter, is a Quakertown native.

Another notable figure, Oscar Hammerstein, a musical theater playwright and lyricist whose musicals include The King and I and The Sound of Music, is from Doylestown.
