Popular New Jersey Thai restaurant Pru Thai, owned by French Culinary Institute-trained chefs Korn and Chayanee Wongsarochana, opened its third location in nearby Lambertville late last month, writes Jenna Intersimone for My Central Jersey

The new intimate 30-seat eatery with a modern French bistro-like atmosphere serves the same delicious Thai dishes available at the original location, including the popular Crying Tiger, grilled beef tenderloin with roasted chili sauce, and pla rad pik, fried fish topped with sweet chili garlic sauce.

A few specials commemorating the brand’s 20th anniversary are also on the menu. As part of the celebration, the restaurant will offer giveaways and promotions.

One new offering, sen jan pad pu, is a noodle dish featuring the umami-rich flavors of shrimp heads, honoring Korn’s mother and her hometown of Chantaburi, Thailand.

It was his mother’s cooking that inspired the chef to embark on a culinary journey.

“Cooking has always been about family for me,” said Korn. “Learning from my mom, working side by side with my wife, and now being able to share our story and food with even more communities as we grow is incredibly special. We’re excited to bring the same dedication and love to Lambertville.”
