Unofficial Election Results in Bucks County Show Trump Defeating Harris by Just 512 Votes
According to a Bucks County spokesperson, unofficial election results show former President Donald Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris by just 512 votes in the county, reports Nikki Dementri for CBS News Philadelphia.
The announcement of Trump’s return to the White House sparked a mix of emotions in Doylestown.
“To think he’s the example that is leading our country with,” said voter Natasha Lichty. “He doesn’t behave in a way that I would condone my children behaving.”
Bucks County recorded a more than 80 percent voter turnout, making the 512-vote margin a slim victory for the former president.
“I wasn’t even sure we’d win it, because we haven’t since ‘88,” said Pat Poprik, Chair of Bucks County Republican Committee. “So looking at that number, for a collar county, it’s still a big win.”
Meanwhile, state Sen. Steve Santarsiero, Bucks County Democratic Committee Chair, is already looking towards the future.
“What we need to do now as Democrats is, within our constitutional framework, work to explain to people why our ideas and our policies are better for them,” he said.
