Foundations Community Partnership Supports Local Nonprofits

Foundations Community Partnership (FCP) recently awarded its fall Partnership in Youth Services (PYS) Grant to 14 non-profit organizations serving children, young adults, and families in Bucks County, Pa.

Collectively, these organizations will help address the behavioral health and human service needs of 4,674 Bucks County residents.

“Supporting innovative ideas and impactful programs has been at the core of our grantmaking since 2007,” said Tracy Pasternak Willis, chair of FCP’s Board of Directors. “Eleven of the 14 grant recipients are partnering with us for the first time, and we are grateful to all the nonprofits for their positive impact in the community.”

PYS Grants totaling $37,200 were awarded to the following non-profits:

  • Avery’s Hope ($2,500) – to expand its BrAvery Award Program for the pediatric gastrointestinal patient families facing hardships.
  • BC Cares Educational Foundation ($3,000) – to provide food delivery services to select families in the Bristol Borough and Township school districts.
  • Best Buddies ($3,000) – to increase student participation in Bucks County schools, building one-to-one friendships between people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • College Knowledge Foundation ($3,500) – to combat the lack of information, resources, and financial aid available to low-income high school students as they consider pursuing higher education.
  • Free Fall Action Sports ($3,500) – to pilot a community-based art program, designed to be an educational and supportive outlet for local youths.
  • Keep Music Alive ($2,000) – to host 15 “Musical Instrument Petting Zoo” events at Bucks County schools, libraries, and community festivals.
  • Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund ($2,500) – to relieve qualified families from uninsured expenses, such as transportation costs, therapeutic summer programs, and other out-of-pocket costs associated with ensuring excellent care for a child with special needs.
  • Leveling the Playing Field ($2,000) – to provide sports equipment to local schools and programs to increase youth participation and introduce new sports that otherwise would not have been accessible.
  • Life Path ($700) – to lend and test assistive devices and other infant/toddler materials that families need but are unable to afford.
  • Sauers Cares ($2,000) – to offer free multipoint inspections for personal vehicles of underprivileged single mothers, including oil changes, fluid top-offs, and general maintenance to help maintain their independence.
  • Tend to Hope ($2,500) – to deliver “Seeds of Hope” bags to the Lenape Valley Lodge, providing self-care items and resources designed to instill dignity and hope in newly admitted individuals.
  • The Next Step Program ($3,500) – to provide a year-round, hands-on experience, maintaining garden plots in Doylestown Township, for young adults with disabilities in its Explore Program.
  • TMA Bucks Foundation ($3,000) – to provide car seats to families in underserved communities, focusing on safety and proper installation of the seats.
  • TreeHouse MidAtlantic ($3,500) – to expand its current partnership with the Pennsbury School District’s middle schools, providing weekly emotional and behavioral peer support groups, to the high school.

Foundations Community Partnership (FCP) is a philanthropic grant-making foundation supporting the behavioral health and human service needs of children, young adults, and families in Bucks County, Pa.

FCP provides grants to non-profit organizations, awards scholarships to Bucks County high school seniors, subsidizes service-learning internships for college students, and underwrites professional development opportunities.
