If You Love to Live on Water, Philadelphia Magazine Says This Bucks County Town Is Perfect for You

If you love to live on the water but still prefer all the amenities that houses on land offer, then New Hope is the place for you.

If you love to live on the water but would still prefer to have all the amenities and features that houses on land offer, choosing a riverside or lakeside home is the way to go, writes Sandy Smith for the Philadelphia Magazine.

New Hope is one of the towns to consider buying a waterfront home, as it placed among the ten communities in the region that are perfect for riverside living.

New Hope sits right on the Delaware River. When entered from the south, the town welcomes you with a plethora of restaurants, shops, bars, nightclubs, and even a famous theater.

After you cross Bridge Street, the residential part of Main Street starts to take over. All the houses to the right feature backyards on the river, most of which have boat docks extending from them.

Many of the homes are older colonials, Victorians, and Queen Annes, but there are also some newer standouts.

The town has become so popular that many celebrities have been flocking there, although they seem to prefer the farmhouses and manors further inland.
