WSJ: Four Philadelphia Colleges Make List of Top Schools for Helping Graduates Become Financially Successful

University of Pennsylvania was ranked as one of the top schools in the nation for helping set graduates up for future financial success.

The Wall Street Journal has released its 2025 Wall Street Journal/College Pulse rankings for best salaries, graduate earnings, and returns on investments, writes Kevin McAllister for the publication.

Four Philadelphia colleges were ranked in the top 200 for helping make their graduates rich.

The top Philadelphia college is University of Pennsylvania, which ranked 13th overall with a score 85.1. It was the only Philly school to rank in the top 100.

Next up is Thomas Jefferson University, which ranked No. 128 with a 74.5 score.

Drexel University ranked No. 181 on the list with a score of 69.2.

Temple University also cracked into the top 200 list at No. 196 with a 67.8 score.

The criteria to make the list are the college needs to put graduates on lucrative pathways at the start of their careers and keep the price of attendance in check.

To measure financial success, WSJ and its research partner Statista looked at income data within 10 or 11 years after students entered college and combined that with raw earnings data with the extent those earnings outpaced expected salaries.
