Joe DeMarco, a World War II veteran from Philadelphia, marked his 100th birthday in a way that reflects his vibrant spirit—enjoying a beer with fellow veterans, savoring beef sliders, and celebrating at Parx Casino in Bensalem, writes JD Mullane for the Bucks County Courier Times.

The celebration, held on August 9, 2024, at the Beer Garden restaurant, brought together friends, local officials, and casino executives to honor his incredible milestone.

DeMarco, who grew up in South Philadelphia, joined the U.S. Marine Corps at just 17.

After the formalities, DeMarco spent his centennial doing what he loves—shooting craps at the casino. His first toss brought cheers as the croupier announced, “A winnah!”

DeMarco continues to enjoy every moment of his remarkable century.
