Bristol native Mike Missanelli, a beloved figure in Philadelphia sports radio, is making a triumphant return to 97.5 The Fanatic (WPEN-FM) as the midday host, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Program director Scott Masteller, who took over the role earlier this year, has been envisioning Missanelli’s comeback since his appointment.

In recent months, Masteller restructured the station’s lineup by moving Andrew Salciunas to join morning host John Kincade and extending Ricky Bottalico’s contract to co-host the afternoon slot with Tyrone Johnson. Missanelli’s return completes the new lineup.

Beasley Media Group, the parent company of The Fanatic, announced Missanelli’s return after months of negotiations. Masteller, having known Missanelli from his time at ESPN Radio, believes the timing is perfect for his comeback, benefiting both the station and its audience.

Missanelli will be joined by Bill Colarulo, a lawyer-turned-sports-talker, and producer Ray Dunne.
