Bloomsday has been named the best bar in Philadelphia and one of the top bars in the entire United States.

Philadelphia wine and vermouth bar Bloomsday has been named and one of the best in the nation, writes Annamarie Dooling for Philly Burbs.

Bloomsday was included as one of 27 bars on the 2024 USA TODAY Bars of the Year list. The list was created by USA TODAY Network food writes from all across the country.

“Our ethos is on making regulars. Building guest relations is a focus. Whatever your routine is, we want to be a part of it. Even if you only come every Sunday to get that croissant, that’s your time and energy,” said D’Onna Stubblefield, Bloomsday’s sommelier and beverage director.

Bloomsday specializes in local and organic wines from both the United States and abroad. It includes ciders, bubbly and orange wines, with specialized menus featuring regions and themes on a rotating basis.

All the wines are natural and made using sustainable practices from the fancy wine shop in the back of the restaurant.

For non-oenophiles, Bloomsday bartenders will take their favorite vermouth off the bar and run through pairings, such as an olive or pepper gilda. A popular option is the Bloomsday Citywide, a beer and vermouth combo that changes each month.

Ultimately, Bloomsday is a neighborhood hub with both a wine club and book club.
