Bensalem is one of the sixteen municipalities that will receive funding for a water main replacement project.

Bensalem is one of the 16 municipalities that will receive funding for a water main replacement project, writes Dino Ciliberti for the Patch.

According to state Rep. K.C. Tomlinson, the township will be allotted funding from a $77.5 million loan provided by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority.

“I am happy to say Bensalem is included in this vital project in the southeast,” said Tomlinson. “Making sure our water mains are updated means our drinking water is safe and quality service is provided to the consumers.”

PENNVEST funding serves projects in the state that focus on sewer, stormwater, and drinking water.

The entirety of the loan will be distributed to selected municipalities throughout southeastern Pennsylvania to improve their water quality through water main replacement projects.
