Aqua Pennsylvania is installing approximately 17,000 feet of water mains in West Brandywine and Caln townships and Downingtown Borough. The company is tying in ductile iron water mains, which are durable and comprise nearly 90 percent recycled materials, to existing lines.  

This investment is part of Aqua’s continuing infrastructure improvement program to add new infrastructure and replace decades-old water and wastewater infrastructure nationwide. The new water mains will improve water flow for customers throughout Chester County. 

In West Brandywine Township, crews are installing nearly 8,600 feet of 12-inch ductile iron mains on the following streets: 

• Manor Road between Beaver Creek and Hibernia roads  
• Hibernia Road between Manor Road and Horseshoe Pike (322) 

Crews are also working on adding nearly 8,500 feet of 16-inch ductile iron mains in Downingtown Borough and Caln Township as part of a two-phase project. The work is taking place on the following streets:  

• Rock Raymond Road between Autumn Cherry Boulevard and Manor Avenue (322) 
• Manor Ave (322) between Rock Raymond Road and Lloyd Avenue  
• Lloyd Avenue between Manor Avenue (322) and a point 300 feet west of Stonebridge Lane  
• Lloyd Avenue between Deer Drive and a point 300 feet west of Stonebridge Lane
