Philadelphia Pastry Chef Wins ‘Next Baking Master: Paris on Food Network’ Competition
Philadelphia pastry chef Robert Toland won the title of “Next Baking Master: Paris on Food Network,” writes Marilyn Johnson for Philly Grub.
Toland is the executive pastry chef at Garces Group.
He was one of 10 chefs to compete on “Next Baking Master.” Contestants were required to demonstrate their baking and pastry chops through various challenges each episode.
Toland’s victory is an exemplification of his culinary talent, as he persevered through the grind of the competition to win the prestigious title of “Next Baking Master.”
According to the Food Network, Toland studied art in addition to attending culinary school. That dynamic helped him implement an element of creativity into each dish he makes.
He is also interested in the science of pastry, and prides himself on technique.
All of these factors set him apart from the pack to win the competition.
