Facenda Spirits, a new handcrafted limoncello distillery, is set to bring the Amalfi Coast to downtown Doylestown, writes Michele Haddon for the Bucks County Courier Times.
Owned by Chalfont couple Richard and Stacy Facenda, the distillery will offer a locally made version of the traditional Italian liqueur.
Richard Facenda has spent the last two decades perfecting his limoncello recipe, crafted from lemon peels, grain alcohol, sugar, and water.
Limoncello, typically enjoyed as an after-dinner drink, can also be used in cocktails. Facenda Spirits’ brand, The ‘Cello, uses lemons imported from the Amalfi Coast, hand-peeled to ensure quality. Their all-natural products include organic fruits with no additives or artificial colors.
Located on North Main Street, in the former Two Ladies Bakery space, Facenda Spirits will produce The ‘Cello, offer tastings, and sell bottles. They also plan to partner with local restaurants and bars to feature their limoncello.
The official opening date is expected around mid-July or mid-August, pending final approval of their liquor license.
