Newtown native Alex Cooper is joining the NBC lineup for coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics, writes Brendan O’Sullivan for The Sporting News.
Cooper, host of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, will host live interactive watch parties called “Watch with Alex Cooper,” which will be streamed on Peacock.
Cooper’s watch parties will feature guest appearances and real-time audience interaction. “As a former athlete, the chance to cheer on the world’s greatest athletes at the Olympics is beyond thrilling,” Cooper said.
“I am so excited to be partnering with NBC and Peacock to present this interactive watch-party format for the first time from the Olympics.”
The second episode airs on Thursday, August 1, covering the women’s gymnastics all-around event.
Cooper, a former Boston University athlete, played as a midfielder on the women’s soccer team from 2013-2015, winning the Patriot League title each season.
