For Bucks County siblings LJ and Max Schembri of Bucks County, their sports camaraderie is in full swing, writes Dave Uram for KYW Newsradio.
Fans since early childhood, 13-year-old LJ and 10-year-old Max revel in the current success of Philly’s teams, particularly the Phillies.
Both active baseball players even have Phillies-themed helmets. Max, a catcher, admires J.T. Realmuto and Bryce Harper, while LJ, a pitcher, looks up to Harper and Trea Turner.
Their enthusiasm is shared with a large family of fans, frequently gathering to watch games. Their uncle, Zach Devlin, a former KYW Philadelphia Sports Fan of the Week, praises their fervor and attention to detail.
Their appreciation for Philadelphia sports history is notable, with Max being a fan of 90s Phillies catcher Darren Daulton, despite being born two decades later.
One unforgettable moment for them was the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII victory, which they celebrated with their entire family.
LJ, Max, and their family eagerly await the next championship win, ready to celebrate together.
