Six Philly-Area Hospitals Rank Top 50 in U.S. News & World Report for Specialty Care
Six hospitals from the Philadelphia region are in the top 50 nationally for at least one healthcare specialty category in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals report, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The Hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania–Penn Presbyterian Medical Center also made the publication’s “Honor Roll” as one of the nation’s top 28 hospitals.
This is the 18th consecutive time that HUP-Penn Presbyterian made the honor roll. It placed at No. 13 overall and also made its way onto 11 top-50 national rankings in specialties.
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital has seven top-50 rankings, including second place in ophthalmology through its Wills Eye Hospital affiliation.
MossRehab in Elkins Park, which is part of Jefferson Health, placed eighth for rehabilitation, while the system’s Rothman Orthopaedics, with a specialty hospital in Bensalem, ranked No. 20 for orthopedics.
Temple Health’s Fox Chase Cancer Center placed No. 19 for urology and No. 33 for oncology.
Finally, Pennsylvania Hospital, part of the Penn Health System, placed No. 45 for obstetrics and gynecology. Read more about the best hospitals in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
