Philadelphia native Dr. Fatima Abdul Johnson is a woman of many different titles.
Among them include a Miss Black Pennsylvania alumna, educator at Temple University, Ph.D. holder, and a registered metaphysician and doctor of metaphysical sciences.
Johnson is also the founder of the nonprofit, S.T.R.I.V.E. Motivation Inc., and created a sub-organization within it called ‘Queens United Against Domestic Violence,’ writes Matteo Iadonisi for 6abc.
This venture came to be after she was a victim of intimate partner violence on June 9, 2022.
“I came forward in the media, and then I said, ‘There’s something that has to be done here,’” she said.
Several other women were coming forward to her with their stories, as well, which led to the launch of Queens United Against Domestic Violence.
They conduct community outreach, organize events, promote wellness resources, and welcome new members with care packages.
They also provide information about the domestic violence hotline, as Dr. Johnson is a national spokesperson for domestic violence.
Whether the members needs peer support, counselors, or therapists, they strive to be there for that.
“We have to do it together and that’s what Queens United Against Domestic Violence does,” said Dr. Johnson. “We take one from the darkness and guide them through the light.”
