Pitching is a family affair for the Olsons. Dan Olson, 71, began the tradition with a career that led him to Southern Cal and the independent Portland Mavericks, writes Lochlahn March for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

His son Jordan, 43, followed, playing at USC and briefly in the minors with the Tampa Bay Rays. Now, 17-year-old Ryder Olson is taking up the mantle.

Ryder, a sophomore at Pennridge High School in Perkasie, just completed a standout season, achieving a 1.67 ERA and helping his team reach the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

Ranked as the ninth-best pitcher in Pennsylvania for his class, Ryder shows significant potential.

Dan and Jordan see Ryder as the most advanced of the three at his age.

With support from his father and grandfather, Ryder continues to refine his skills, aiming to achieve even greater heights in his baseball career.
