Pennridge High School’s Ryder Olson is a Rising Star in Baseball
Ryder Olson, a sophomore at Pennridge High School, is emerging as a promising pitcher with an impressive start to his season, writes Tom Moore for the Bucks County Courier Times.
Boasting a record of 2-3 with one save and a 2.26 ERA, Olson has struck out 25 in 21⅔ innings, drawing on a rich family legacy of baseball excellence for guidance.
Ryder’s father, Jordan Olson, a former professional player was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 2003. His grandfather, Dan Olson was a former USC pitcher and part of their 1972 and ’73 College World Series championship teams.
Jordan, particularly, plays a crucial role in Ryder’s development, often reviewing game footage with him to pinpoint areas of improvement and success, echoing the way his own father mentored him.
The Olson family’s deep connection to baseball is a cornerstone of Ryder’s growth in the sport.
Dan Olson actively follows Ryder’s games through GameChanger and livestreams, focusing on reinforcing positive aspects of his grandson’s performance.
Looking ahead, Ryder aspires to continue pitching at the college level, supported by his family’s profound experience and knowledge in baseball.
