Renowned furniture designer Mira Nakashima, daughter of New Hope’s George Nakashima, will be hosting a special book signing, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
On June 13 visitors can meet Mira at the Museum for Art in Wood and get their copy of “The Nakashima Process Book” autographed from 5:30-8 PM.
Mira continues her father’s legacy of innovative handcrafted furniture. Her new book unveils the philosophy and meticulous process behind the Nakashima studio’s iconic designs that allow wood to showcase its natural beauty.
After the signing, visitors can explore the museum’s latest exhibit “To Understand a Tree” by Gina Siepel.
This immersive installation challenges perspectives on trees as living subjects through video, wood sculptures, and artifacts.
“The Nakashima Process Book” is available for pre-order on the museum’s website for the signing.
