Three Nonprofits to Host First-ever Forum on Education for Bucks County State House of Representatives Candidates

Bucks County Community College has secured a $2 million federal grant to expand its clean energy job training programs.

Three local nonprofits have partnered to host the first-ever forum on education for State House of Representatives candidates, according to a staff report from The Reporter.

NAACP Bucks County Branch, the League of Women Voters of Bucks County, and Bucks County Community College have invited all 20 candidates running for the 10 state house districts in Bucks County to participate in the live, non-partisan forum on September 12, at the college’s Newtown Campus.

The forum will be moderated by Bill Pezza, the college’s longtime social science faculty member. He will ask the public questions before the forum.

The “Candidates Forum: Education in Pennsylvania” will be streamed live on the college’s YouTube channel as well as open to the public.

“This is an exciting and extraordinary opportunity to hear Pennsylvania State Representative candidates discuss their views about education,” said Karen Downer, President of the NAACP Bucks County Branch.

“Our members as well as the public in general always want to know more about who their candidates are and what their thoughts are on issues that are important to them and their families, and education is a critical topic in the Bucks County community.”
