In the second of a series of events throughout June in celebration of Black Music Month, the African American Museum in Philadelphia will highlight the Black experience through country and folk music.
On Saturday, June 8, the African American Museum in Philadelphia will host an event titled, “Rhythms of Liberation from Juneteenth to Beyond!”
The event will serve to highlight Black artists like King George, Tanner Adell, Shaboozey, Reyna Roberts, and many others who have made contributions to the country and folk music genres.
At the event, be prepared to line dance to hit songs like Beyonce’s “Texas Hold Em,” Blanco Brown’s “The Git Up,” and King George’s “Can’t Stay Too Long.”
Guests are also encouraged to shop with the locally-sourced vendors and help support Black entrepreneurs who will be in attendance.
The “Rhythms of Liberation from Juneteenth to Beyond!” event will take place at the African American Museum in Philadelphia on June 8 from 4 PM to 8 PM.
