The Doan Gang: Outlaws of the Revolution is officially open at the Mercer Museum on May 4, according to a staff report from The Island 360. 

The exhibition will be on view in the museum’s Martin & Warwick Foundation Galleries until Dec. 31, 2026. A special Members-Only Preview Day will take place on May 3. 

The exhibition explores the history and intrigue of a Revolutionary War-era Loyalist group whose legend continues to live on. They were seen as villains by some and heroes by others. 

Visitors will learn about the untold stories of the Doan Gang and immerse themselves into a world of espionage, robberies, and mythical lost treasure at the center of Revolutionary Bucks County. 

“This project is one of the most ambitious, original, and exciting exhibitions ever presented at the Mercer Museum,” said Cory Amsler, Vice President of Collections & Interpretation at the Bucks County Historical Society, which operates the museum. 

“The story of the Doan Gang has never before been presented with such clarity and accuracy, and placed so firmly within the larger context of the Revolutionary Era,” he added.
