The historic Stone Meadows Farm in Bucks County is set to undergo a major transformation into age-restricted housing.

The historic Stone Meadows Farm in Bucks County, once a verdant stretch of 167 acres along Route 413 in Middletown, is set to undergo a major transformation, writes JD Mullane for the Bucks County Courier Times.

After decades of efforts to protect the farm, bulldozers have started preparing the land for a new housing development.

The project, led by Metropolitan Development Group and Fox Lane Homes, will feature 164 age-restricted twin homes.

Despite the impending development, a significant portion of the farm—approximately 70 acres—will be preserved.

This follows a prolonged battle involving the local township, which aimed to protect the entire farm and even attempted to acquire it through eminent domain.

The conflict reached the courts, with the township ultimately losing. However, a resolution came in 2022 when the Bucks County Commissioners allocated $2 million for an agricultural easement covering 67 acres of the farm where the late Ezra Stone, a notable radio actor and producer, once resided with his family.
